Yoshie Taira
Spanish dancer / Spanish dance choreographer

Yoshie Taira joined Yoko Komatsubara Flamenco Company school in 1988. She started to performe in Summer Flamenco Festival in Hibiya, Tokyo from 1991. After then she took part in all the company performance not only in Japan, but in Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona, Malaga, Cordoba, Granada, New York, Brazil, Singapole many times.
In '92 Sevilla Expo, In '05 Aichi Expo she performed flamenco.

In '97 Yoshie learned flamenco & Clasico Espanol(classic Spanish dance) with Matilde's Academy and Christina Heelen Flamenco Foundation School in Sevilla, Spain.
On her return to Japan, She began performe a lot of theater flamenco performance as a principal dancer of Yoko Komatsubara Flamenco Company, that is the most famous and successful company in the world. And she played together with many big stars, Joaquin Cortes, Lola Greco, Maribel Gallardo, Crillo de Bormujos, Luis Ortega, Antonio Marqus, Antonio Canales who played as a principal or guest principal dancers of Ballet National Espana (Spanish national Ballet company).

In '02 Yoshie became the winner of the 1st.CAF flamenco Contest in Japan. She.received the highest score.

In '03 she danced gSiguiriya" number as a guest artist in exhibition of the 2nd. CAF flamenco contest.
Yoshie tried gLa Union international flamenco festival contest, which is one of the most famous and important contest in Spain. She became the first Japanese flamenco dancer who could pass through the semi fainal stage. And she dance a grave number gSiguiriya" by traditional style with castanets & la bata de cola(long skirt). She's got great comments on all the papers and the Spacial Prize by Festival director Jose Manuel.

Yoshie danced the 1st. Biennale Flamenco Festival as a protagonist dancer with Andres Pena and Mercedes Luis both who were the winner of the Sevilla and Cordoba contest in Spain.

Her activity is not only on stage, but also in TV show , TVCF, music promotion video, etc.
In '05 Her documentary TV show was on air by Hi-Vision TV program gCho-jin". It means superhuman. She was chosen as a Japanese top flamenco dancer.

From '97, she established her own studio in Kanda, Tokyo.
She became independent from Yoko Komatsubara flamenco company in '06. She was offered performance by many different performers now. She collaborated with Kazumi Sato who is the one of famous musician recently.
